A Place for Golden Retriever Dog Lovers

 Golden Retrievers need love too.

The Golden Retriever dog is a breed that was developed as a gundog to retrieve shot waterfowl and game birds hunting and shooting parties. Their soft mouth can retrieve game without causing any damage to the game. They love to jump and play in water. They are very friendly and easger to please making them the 4th most popular family dog breeds by registration in the world. The Golden Retriever was orginally developed in Scotland at a place called," Guisachan" near Glen Affric. The AKC (American Kennel Club) recognized the breed in 1925, and in 1938 the Golden Retriever Club of America was formed.

Let's talk how friendly these dogs are. They are not "one man dogs" and are generally equally amiable with both strangers and those familiar to them. Their trusting, gentle disposition therefore makes them a poor guard dog. Well, I have to say that my dog, Sky, can scare anybody away from the house with her barking. I had a few guys working in the house putting a heat pump in and when they came through the door she started barking. She showed them that she was not to mess with. Once they came over to her and started talking to her, she was very cautious of them but started to let them pet here. But she was still alert. She can tell me if someone is coming before they knock on the door.
