Rorschach Inkblots

The Rorschach test (also known as the Rorschach inkblot test or simply as an Inkblot test) is a method of psychological evaluation in which subjects' perceptions of inkblots are recorded and then analyzed using, depending on the psychologist, intuitive insight, complex scientifically derived algorithms, or both. Some psychologists use this test to try to examine the personality characteristics and emotional functioning of their patients. It has been employed in diagnosing underlying thought disorder and differentiating psychotic from nonpsychotic thinking in cases where the patient is reluctant to admit openly to psychotic thinking.[3] The test takes its name from that of its creator, Swiss psychologist Hermann Rorschach.
